A Note to Montessorians

We recommend offering a careful presentation the first time you use the alphabet with children. Demonstrate the left hand, first finger at the top of a letter stack to hold the stack in place while the right hand, pincer grip removes one letter from the top.

A Note to Teachers

You can hang the open pocket chart on a dowel. Introduce one phonogram at a time to slowly fill up your pockets. Once all phonograms have been introduced, fold the pouch and place it on a shelf for phonogram writing activities.
