CPSIA Compliance

The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is a Federal agency that enforces the 1972 Consumer Product Safety Act (CPSA). In 2008, the CPSA was amended to explicitly include children's products. That act is called the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA).

Maitri Learning is an eco-conscious company that was founded to help children. We care deeply about the safety of our materials and meet or exceed all CPSIA safety requirements.

Children's Product Compliance Certificate

The safety of our materials is of utmost importance to us. We have had our products tested by an independent, CPSC-approved testing laboratory and have passed all tests. As a small batch manufacturer of printed products, we are technically exempt from such testing. But, we feel it is important to make sure our products are safe for use by children regardless of regulatory requirements.

In addition to the specific third-party testing that we have had done, we also work with our vendors to assure that the components they provide us are CPSIA compliant. Our quality standards are exceptionally high. If you would like to see a copy of our test certificates, please contact us and we'll be happy to forward them to you.

We are registered with the Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC) as a small batch manufacturer (registration # 038475-012025). This certificate applies to all print-based products that we make including Vocabulary Cards, Matching Cards, 3-Part Cards, Movable Alphabets, Word Study Cards, Grammar Cards, etc. and all of our textiles. As per 16 CFR § 1500.91, our paper-based, CYMK printed and laminated materials are made of components that exempt them from total lead content testing. This exemption exists because these materials (e.g., paper, toner, and laminate) are known to be lead-free.

The fabric used in our cloth materials weigh more than 2.6 ounces per square yard are exempt from testing (see 16 CFR §1610.1(d)(1) because they are known to be lead-free.
