Letter Sound Charts

Master Letter-Sound Knowledge with these easy to use Letter-Sound Charts.

Use these to introduce the key sound for each letter/digraph; with these, you can phonetically spell all words in English! These key sounds lay the foundation for understanding the phonetic half of written English.

The charts take our language and make it concrete by assigning one sound for each letter/digraph. These are the first letter-sound connections we teach. Later, we move on to the spelling variations but we don't introduce those at this stage because we are isolating the concept of language being represented (reliably) by letters. 

The following table lists the key phonemes of English as presented in this system.

Use these with children who have passed the sensitive period for tracing and are no longer interested in tracing the sandpaper letters.

Use these for multisensory visual/auditory games. Students can also practicing tracing the laminated cards with a dry erase marker.
