A Note to Montessorians

We recommend offering a careful presentation the first time you use the alphabet with children. Demonstrate the left hand, first finger at the top of a letter stack to hold the stack in place while the right hand, pincer grip removes one letter from the top.

A Note to Teachers

You can clip the open pocket chart to a dowel for an open display. Introduce one letter/sound at a time to slowly fill up your pockets. Once all letters/sounds have been introduced, fold the pouch and place it on a shelf for word building/writing activities.
