There is so much that preschoolers can do when given the right literacy foundations, all in a playful learning format. Here are a few small collections of foundational materials designed specifically to support these emerging skills.
Bundle 1: Vocabulary

Vocabulary Cards: Teach them the words they are interested in. We like:

Sorting Cards: Let children practice sorting the words they know into groups. Start with these four titles:
- Farm Families
- Living/Non-living

Matching Cards: Practice using new vocabulary in classic matching games. Use these first for vocabulary building and then for matching and sorting.

Bundle 2: Background Knowledge
Knowledge about the world significantly contributes to future literacy. Help children develop a broader understanding of life around the world and give them opportunities to verbally express their ideas with these materials.
- Geography Cards Series 1: These are really essential to get your preschooler engaged with ideas of life around the world. This series includes one packet for each of the seven continents with matching themes in each packet (e.g., children at school, people in a parade, people fishing, etc.)

Fine Art Display Cards: Start with World art and then move on to American and European. This bundle includes two packets to get you started.
