Phonetic Level 3 Set: Other Phonograms

All ten packets in Level 3, Group 2 feature one common phonogram (like a with a silent e) per packet. The phonogram is printed in red while the rest of the word is in black to help isolate the new concept being taught. Other than the phonogram, every word is completely phonetic and follows predictable rules of English. 

This collection includes ten 3-part card packets, one for the following phonograms: a silent e, a (nasal), ck, ea, i silent e, o silent e, oi, oo (moon), ow, and double letters.

If you're looking for the pink, blue, green series, Level 3 equals the green series.

We recommend getting one green 3-pocket pouch to organize and display your cards. You only need one pouch because you will rotate packet contents every week or so to keep the environment alive with interest; one-pouch but ever-changing cards inside it. How fun!

These cards work just like the phonogram object box but have a built-in control of error. After your initial phonogram object box lessons, branch into these phonetic 3-part cards to keep the reading going while empowering children to find and correct their own mistakes. No adult help needed!

We recommend organizing these cards into subsets of six words per group. You can use the organization of the packets as they are upon purchase or reorganize them to isolate certain sounds (lesson plan with suggested groupings included). Place one group at a time in a lovely cloth pouch, box, or tray (the lid from gift boxes works well for this). Change the groups every week or so to keep things interesting (follow your child's pace but allow for repetition with each group before swapping them out).
