It's hard to find the money needed to purchase learning materials. But things are changing fast in education with many new opportunities arising for homeschools and private schools.

    Alabama

     Funding for CHOOSE Act (Children Have Opportunities in Unique School Environments)
    Possible Amounts $2,000 for homeschool students
    Eligibility Families with income at or below 300% of federal poverty level; priority for special needs students and dependents of active-duty military
    Can be used for Homeschool curriculum and program materials

         Funding for Children's Educational Freedom Account Program (part of LEARNS Act)
        Possible Amounts $6,800 per student
        Eligibility All K-12 students, including homeschoolers. Students are required to take a national, norm-referenced test each year

          Possible Amounts

          Grades 1-12: $7,000 to $8,000/year per student

          Kindergarten: $4,000/year per student

          Eligibility All K-12 students eligible. Includes Pre-K options for those with disabilities.

            $8,000/year depending on grade/needs

            Eligibility

            All K-12 students eligible; priority for low-income families and children in foster care.

            Offers ESA funding specifically extended to Pre-K students through the Family Empowerment Scholarship for Students with Unique Abilities Program as of 2024

                 Funding for Georgia Promise Scholarship Act
                Possible Amounts Up to $6,500 per student
                Eligibility Students who reside in attendance zones of the lowest 25% performing public schools and have been enrolled in a Georgia public school for two consecutive semesters OR are rising kindergarten students
                Can be used for Educational expenses including homeschool materials

                    Idaho

                     Funding for Empowering Parents Program: program terminated: 
                    • Grants issued in 2023 will expire in 2026.

                    • Grants issued in 2024 will expire in 2027.

                    • Grants issued in 2025 will expire in 2028.

                    Possible Amounts $1,000 per student (maximum $3,000 per household)
                    Eligibility All Idaho students (K-12) who meet the financial requirements are eligible, regardless of whether they attend a public or private school or are homeschooled

                               Funding for Tax Credit for Low Income Students Scholarship Program
                              Possible Amounts Maximum scholarship amount is $8,000 per student
                              Eligibility Children from families with income not exceeding 250% of the federal poverty level; children must be between ages 5 and 21
                              Can be used for Private school tuition and related costs; also allows homeschool students to participate in public school activities
