Language Album
"Well, I’ve reviewed many albums before, NAMC, Montessori Print shop, Allison’s. But none are comparable to the one offered by Maitri learning. The level of detailing, explanations, comprehensive presentation steps, footnotes, all are excellent at preparing the guide. It’s the closest you can get to AMI standard authenticity. These resemble closely to my mother-in-laws AMI albums, with only minor differences. I’m very happy with my purchase. Thank you"

Authentic, high-quality Montessori album, using for homeschool
"It took me a LONG time to settle on a Montessori language album for my homeschool because I wanted to ensure I chose one that grasps the Montessori method - and Dwyer approach - in its fullness, and doesn't just use the name. I had sent questions to numerous album "creators", but I was only astounded by the depth of understanding and thoroughness of the responses that I received from Maitri, which gives me great confidence in the album. From a homeschool perspective, this is a Montessori teacher album and does take warming up to as lessons aren't sequential. You need to be knowledgeable on the Montessori method prior to using a Montessori album such as this for homeschool. If you want an open-and-go book, and to loosely follow Montessori ideas for homeschool, there's cheaper options, but if you want quality Montessori material, I am very pleased with this album. My greatest challenge in starting to use it was figuring out where my almost 5 year old landed without a clear scope & sequence or "placement test" (is there a way to Montessori that?). It does note which lessons should proceed another, which is an essential detail! Here's what I've liked best of it so far, and what I would add (please note I haven't yet had the opportunity to read the WHOLE manual and make it rote, so my apologies if I note something as absent that is actually in it): I love the outlined age, prerequisite lessons and purpose noted with each lesson and description of the materials. I find this information essential, however some of the activities within those lessons contain additional prerequisites, and so a detailed scope & sequence (as much as one can exist in Montessori) would be a very appreciated addition. Maitri did help me with this a lot over email (they are VERY helpful with questions). I love that the lessons are semi-scripted. The format/images aren't quite as visually appealing as the samples from NAMC (who I'd originally intended to go with, but balked at the price - and while NAMC's email support was fairly helpful, it took some prodding to get past the standard commercialized responses to questions, unlike Maitri's very personalized, thorough and prompt responses). That said, I found Maitri does come far ahead of many of the other albums I viewed, some of which were overwhelmingly text heavy and dry to read. I like the pictures in Maitri's albums. Lastly, while it makes it more commercialized, I would actually love a footnote in the lessons on which specific Maitri materials to use with each lesson, or better yet a list of recommended words to use for those making their own accompanying materials (e.g. words for phonetic three-part cards, sight words, phonogram lists, etc). I realize such lists would probably cut into sales of their own high quality materials but it would also make Montessori more accessible for those homeschool families that can't afford to purchase a quality Montessori album + supplementary materials, while giving them the peace of mind that they're presenting well chosen words for their child to read with success. Thank you Maitri for offering this album to the public! I am very analytic and examined too many options to count and am glad my search for an authentic Montessori album finally ended here."
