The Neuroscience of Learning:
An Introduction to Mind, Brain, Health, & Education
Have you always imagined what it would be like to study at Harvard? Do you want to find answers to your questions about education, learning, and the brain? Well now you can!
Join Dr. Tracey Tokuhama-Espinosa (researcher, professor, author of nine books on Mind, Brain, and Education, and editor for the Nature partner journal Science of Learning), Julia Volkman (Maitri Learning's founder), and other scholars online on Tuesday afternoons (3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST) this spring. Confirmed guest speakers include Cynthia Borja, PhD., Dee Rutgers, PhD and Barbara Arrowsmith-Young. Accomplished teaching assistants Jovi Nazareno and Danielle Batchelor will present on specific topics including literacy and executive dysfunction. This is a line-up you just don't want to miss!
Julia, Maitri Learning's founder, has been helping to teach this course since 2012 and is passionate about the transformative potential of this field. (She puts her knowledge to practical use in the design of all of Maitri Learning's offerings).
To get a better idea of the “Neuroscience of Learning” as a whole, have a look at the draft of the syllabus or watch this global overview of the course structure and content. You can also watch Julia as she gives last year's video tour of the online classroom. This will show you how and where the learning takes place.
Harvard University Extension School courses are open to all (no prerequisites) and can be taken for no-credit, undergraduate credit, or graduate credit. Click on the following link for course information. Registration opens November 8th!
