Make your own Leaf Shapes 3-part cards! This file features 18 real photos of actual leaves that truly match the shapes in the traditional botany cabinet. The photos and word labels are laid out in a 3-part format (photo card, word card, and control card including the photo and word). Ready to print, cut out, and put to use.

We recommend dividing your cards into groupings of 6 leaf shapes. Keep the other cards in storage and rotate them onto or off of the shelf every week or so to keep this work fresh, new and constantly in use.

PDC files can only be printed from a computer that is connected to a printer. Wireless or physical connections work but USBs on other computers without the Locklizard software (like at your library or local copy shop) won’t work.

A Note to Teachers

Use real leaves when possible to introduce the vocabulary. Use the botany cabinet and the photo-only cards for additional 3-period vocabulary lessons. When children are stretching past reading phonetic words, use all 3-parts for independent reading activities.
