Time: 7:00-7:45 pm ET (4:00pm PT)
Where: Zoom
Join Julia for an intimate conversation about brain science and learning—and why most schools are teaching against the brain.
Julia recently gave a TEDx talk on the neuroscience of learning, and would love to watch it with you and discuss what it means for how we teach, parent, and learn.
What to expect:
- Watch the 10-minute TEDx together
- Facilitated discussion on the three brain truths transforming education
- Q&A on the research and real-world application
- Connect with other educators, parents, and learning enthusiasts
Who should attend: Teachers, school leaders, parents, Montessori educators, curriculum designers, or anyone curious about how the brain actually learns. Especially helpful for Montessori parents thinking of whether to stay in Montessori long-term.
Why this matters: Brain scans reveal measurable differences in neural development based on the types of schools we attend. Research also shows that students in interest-driven, student-led environments tend to score higher on measures of creativity, attention, and self-regulation. The choices we make about education influence brain development. We can either start teaching with the brain or continue to teach against it.

i will be attending. Wish the discussion length were longer .. at-least 1 hr long.
Learning that is aligned with how the brain learns … neural development … are the only ways we can turn traditional schools around.

This is wonderful news. I’m so happy to hear about your TEDx talk. I won’t be able to attend your Zoom meeting , as I will be teaching online at MTCNE in Hartford, CT at that exact time. It is a joy for me to see what you have accomplished, and will always be here to support you. Warmly
