French 3-part reading cards
3-Part Reading Cards: En Français
Take the Montessori method into the realm of foreign languages with these 3-part cards in French or Spanish. Use these
for early reading work in native speakers or as second language work for the native English speaker. Using the same
photos the children learned in
English, these cards allow the child to internalize new vocabulary with ease. Unlike with
English, in both the French and Spanish cards the article (eg, une, el) is used before the noun to clarify the noun’s gender.
Begin by using the photo-only cards in a three-period lesson to present the new vocabulary. Once children can read,
introduce the word labels so children can match the word to the corresponding photo. They use the control cards to check
their own work. Card sizes are as follows: 12 control cards are 3¾” x 4¼”; 12 picture cards are 3¾“ x 3”; and 12 word cards
are 3¾” x 1¼”
(36 cards in each packet). Download our free lesson plans for detailed instructions on how to use these
cards.
